Haryana Government Grants Exemption from Opening Hours and Weekly Closure Provisions under the Haryana Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958.

The Government has issued a notification regarding exemption from the opening hours and weekly closure provisions for commercial shops and establishments in the State of Haryana, subject to the following conditions:
1. Establishments employing women during night shifts (08:00 PM to 06:00 AM) must apply for exemption under Section 28 through auto-mode self-certification, subject to conditions in Notification No. 11/26/2025-4Lab dated 13 October 2025.
2. No employee shall work more than 48 hours per week or 10 hours per day.
3. The total working period including rest intervals shall not exceed 12 hours per day.
4. Overtime wages shall be paid at twice the normal rate.
5. No employee shall work more than 6 hours without a rest interval of at least 30 minutes.
6. Any additional conditions prescribed by the Labour Department shall apply.
7. All applicable labour laws must be complied with by the establishment.
8. This exemption does not override any notification, order, advisory, or circular issued by other authorities or government departments, including the Police.
9. A copy of this notification must be displayed prominently at the employee entrance/exit of the establishment.
